Insulation sandwich panel

Insulation sandwich panel is a common product in current construction materials, which not only can provide good flame retardant and sound insulation, but also is environmentally friendly and efficient. The insulated sandwich panel is formed by pressing the upper and lower metal sheets and the middle polymer thermal insulation inner core. It has the characteristics of simple installation, light weight, environmental protection, and high efficiency. Moreover, the closed bubble molecular structure used in the filling system can prevent condensation of water vapor.


The molding of the outer steel plate fully takes into account the structural and strength requirements, while taking into account aesthetics. The inner surface layer is formed as a flat plate to meet various needs.

Development trend:

Insulation sandwich panels not only have the properties of high mechanical strength and easy molding of steel materials, but also have good decorative and corrosion resistance of coating materials. Insulation sandwich panel is a new material highly respected in the world today. With the progress of science and technology, the enhancement of environmental awareness, and the improvement of people's living standards, sandwich panel mobile homes are increasingly showing strong vitality and broad market prospects, and are widely used in construction, home appliances, electromechanical, transportation, interior decoration, office appliances, and other industries.

The core materials used for insulation sandwich panels mainly include phenolic foam, polystyrene, extruded polystyrene, rigid polyurethane, tri polyester and rock wool;

Core material performance:

A. Bulk density of polystyrene: ≥ 15 kg/m3, thermal conductivity ≤ 0.036 W/m.K, maximum operating temperature: about 100 °C;

B. Rock wool sandwich board, its core material is made of basalt and other natural ores as the main raw materials, which are melted into fibers at high temperature, added with an appropriate amount of adhesive, and solidified. This product is suitable for thermal insulation and sound insulation of industrial equipment, buildings, and ships, as well as for suspended ceilings and partitions in clean rooms, explosion-proof and fireproof workshops;

Volume density: ≥ 120 kg/m3, thermal conductivity: ≤ 0.043 W/m.K, maximum service temperature: about 500 °C, incombustibility: Class A.

C. PU polyurethane: the adhesive strength of the sandwich panel shall not be less than 0.09 Mpa, and the combustion performance of the sandwich panel shall reach Class B1. When the deflection of the sandwich panel is Lo/200 [Lo is the distance between supports], the bending bearing capacity of the sandwich panel shall not be less than 0.5 Kn/m2.

Fire prevention recommendations:

It can prevent fire from six aspects:

  • First, using rock wool with good fire resistance as the core material is a radical solution.

  • Secondly, during the construction process, the core material should be kept away from open flame operations such as electric welding and gas welding;

  • Third, during use, some heat and ignition sources should not be close to the steel plate, and a certain distance should be maintained. If a kitchen is to be installed in a sandwich panel room, a fireproof rock wool thermal insulation layer is required to install on the wall;

  • Fourth, it is best not to cross wires and cables from the core material. If it is necessary to cross, protective sleeves should be added. Socket outlets and switch boxes should be made of metal galvanized boxes and exposed installation methods should be used;

  • Fifth, simple fire extinguishing equipment should be equipped indoors and outdoors, and if conditions permit, fire alarms should be installed to facilitate the rapid evacuation of personnel;

  • Sixth, a safe distance of at least 6 meters should be maintained between prefab houses. Although the sandwich filling material without strict flame-retardant treatment, it will not spontaneously ignite. Strict, scientific, and effective management is one of the important ways to prevent the occurrence of a fire in a sandwich panel room.

Specifications and performance of insulation sandwich panel for wall and roof:

Wall panels:

Insulation sandwich panels are often of the tongued and grooved insertion type. They have the advantages of convenient installation, time saving, material saving, good flatness, and high strength, and are particularly suitable for ceiling and partition systems.

Roof panel:

The 950 corrugated roof sandwich panel integrates corrugated sheet and sandwich panels core, which increases the strength three times compared to ordinary flat type sandwich panels. It uses hidden self-drilling screws to connect with the roof truss, without damaging the exposed parts of the panel, and extends the service life of the panel. The connection between the plates adopts a cap type, which is convenient for construction, improves efficiency, and is characterized by being less prone to water seepage.
