Soundproof sandwich panel characteristics

The soundproof rock wool sandwich panel is an solution for noise reduction in buildings. Made with high-quality rock wool insulation, it effectively absorbs sound waves and reduces noise pollution. Its durable and fire-resistant properties make it an ideal choice for both residential and commercial applications.

Rock wool is a fibrous material made by melting natural rocks (such as basalt) at high temperatures, forming a large number of irregular porous structures inside (with a porosity of over 90%). When sound waves enter the interior of rock wool, they cause air molecules in the pores to vibrate.

Due to the friction and viscous resistance between air and fibers, the energy of sound waves is converted into heat energy for consumption, thereby reducing the reflection and transmission of sound energy and achieving sound absorption and noise reduction.

The performance of the soundproof sandwich panel is directly related to the density and thickness of rock wool. The highest sound absorption coefficient is achieved at medium density of rock wool (such as 100-150 kg/m ³).

For every 50 mm increase in thickness of the soundproof sandwich panel, the sound insulation can be improved by about 3-5 dB. For example, a 50 mm thick rock wool sandwich panel has a sound insulation of about 25-30 dB, and a 100 mm thick rockwool sandwich panel can reach 35-40 dB (equivalent to the level of "normal conversation sound" reduced to "soft whispers").
